(Rancho Dominguez, CA)—The Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum will host a presentation by Richard Foss titled, The First California Cuisine. Foss is a food journalist, culinary historian, and lecturer. He has been writing about food and drink professionally since 1986 and has contributed to over 30 different publications, including the Encyclopedia of World Food Cultures and the Oxford Companion to Sweets. He has taught culinary history at Osher Institute/UCLA Extension and is on the Board of the Culinary Historians of Southern California.

Foss has two publications, Rum – A Global History (2012) and Food in the Air and Space – The Surprising History of Food and Drink in the Skies (2015). Foss is also a guest curator at the Autry Museum of the American West for an exhibit titled, “Cooking Up A New West” that will open in 2021.

The presentation will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:30pm. The event is free and open to the public.
