			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Discover Rosie the Riveter&#8217;s Local Story on Saturday, March 16th @ 1pm</p>
<p>The museum is celebrating women&#8217;s history month with ta talk by Long Beach City Council Member Gerrie Schipske who will be speaking about women&#8217;s history and the local influence of Rose the Riveter.  She is the author of &#8220;Rose the Riveter in Long Beach,&#8221; which chronicles the experiences of thousands of women who worked at the U.S. Army-financed Douglas Aircraft plant in Long Beach during World War II.</p>
<p>There will be a reception, featuring light refreshments and book signing that will follow the lecture.  The book will also be available for purchase.</p>
<p>There is a suggested donation of $4 for the talk.  We hope to see you there.</p>

<p>There will be gold panning, an assayer&#8217;s station where you can trade your gold for merchandise, an exhibit of gold panning equipment used in the 1800s, a talk on gold panning, and a scavenger hunt.  Take home some treats and hopefully a piece of gold as well.  Who knows?</p>
<p>The activity is 1pm to 3pm. There is NO admission charge, however donations are always accepted.  We hope to see you there.</p>
