Anza Exhibit is Open

On the 20th of February the museum opened its exhibit on the Anza Expedition, which was one of the important Spanish expeditions into California.  The exhibit features the history of the Anza exhibit, reproductions of the clothing and tools used on the expedition, and a photo montage of the reenactments of the Anza expedition that have been done throughout the years.

Learn how Lt. Colonel Juan Bautista de Anza led more than 240 men, women, and children on an epic journey across the frontier of New Spain to establish a settlement at San Francisco Bay and discover their legacy.

The exhibit will be open through July 17th.  Opening on July 25th is the exhibit on the Portola expedition, which is the expedition to Alta California that Juan Jose Dominguez was part of.  The Anza exhibit is the 1st part of our 2-part exhibition series on the development on early California.
