We will miss you Father Pat
The Museum is sad to report that Father Pat McPolin passed away this week. Father Pat was an amazing man. In 1972 while he was Provincial Superior, he returned to Dominguez Seminary where he became Superior for the next ten years. He also held the title of Museum Curator for the museum, which he held for over 30 years and took on the job of restoring the Adobe and opening it for the first time to the public.
In 1976, Father Pat went to Washington, DC and had the Adobe placed on the National Registry of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
Father Pat did so much to preserve and share the history of the Adobe, the Dominguez family, and aviation with everyone.
Those that knew him well speak of his kind heart, his generous spirit and his love of family, community and history. Even those that have only met him once saw this as well. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
