October Speaker Talk

Join us at the Museum for the Fall continuation of our “Living, Working and Traveling on the Rancho” speaker series.

October 22nd @ 1pm:

Come hear Professor Toni Wasserberger and her colleague Michael Odanaka give a talk about the 2010 Nisei graduations.  Both will talk about the Nisei graduates and their path from having to move to internment camps in 1942 to receiving their honorary college degrees in 2010.

They will also be talking about the Nisei graduates who lived on the Rancho lands.

The talk will also feature a 6-panel exhibit showing pictures of the town of Carson, the old El Camino College site, Executive Order 9066, and the 2010 Nisei Graduation Ceremonies.

The talk will have light refreshments and a Q&A afterwards.  There is a suggested $4 donation.

Watercolor Day

Come learn how to make your own watercolor masterpiece with renowned local artist, Ron Libbrecht.  This is a beginner’s class and no experience is needed.  The class costs only $7 and it covers the materials so you do not need to bring your own.  Book your spot for this fantastic class now!

Ron Libbrecht is an amazing watercolor artist from our local area.  He was born in Gardena, CA and has been painting most of his life.  He was curated with many artists in the area and his gallery, APC Fine Arts Gallery, features different artists throughout the year.  He has taught watercolor classes at the Adobe for three years and has also taught classes at the Madrona Marsh.  This is a great opportunity to learn the art from a master.
