The Battle of Dominguez Hill took place on October 8th and 9th in 1846, during the U.S.-Mexican War, when a small handful of California troops, led by Jose Antonio Carrillo, successfully held off the invasion of El Pueblo de Los Angeles by American troops. Witness the Mexican-American war battle of Dominguez Hill on the land where it was fought. Appropriate for all ages.
The day’s activities include a welcome by Don Manuel Dominguez, a Fandango (musical and dance performances for adults and children) throughout the day led by Yesteryears Dancers with music by Los Californios, exhibits of period military uniform and ladies fashion, and two battle reenactments at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Please call (310) 603-0088 for more information.
